As we have moved away from traditional establishments in our secular communities, there has remained a deep yearning for comfort, community and support. For care and assistance from someone who fulfils the role of mentor, celebrant and trusted advisor. Spiritual Practitioners are community-minded, a key part of those important celebrations of life, and provide guidance in their community. 

Our Celebrant and Spiritual Practitioner qualification was born out of a deep need for training that combines the spiritual and practical aspects of the passages of life. As metaphysical clergy, you will dedicate your life to contributing to the joy in the lives of others, outside of the confines of doctrine. There are no pre-requisites for this course, except a deep desire to be of service and a personal belief that you are ‘more than your physical body’. 

We are very proud of the fact that our teachings and courses do not conflict with any traditional religious nor spiritual beliefs, but rather enhance all personal belief systems. Course Creators and Instructors

What Qualifications Will I Receive?

Upon completion of this training, you will be qualified to officiate ceremonies, provide spiritual support in your community, and run a ministry.

You will receive a certificate of completion from the SolePath Institute in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

 Upon graduation from this course, you will be able to register to become an ordained clergy through the Canadian International Metaphysical Ministry (CIMM) with the title of Reverend.

WEDDINGS

You will be fully qualified to officiate weddings anywhere in the world. Additionally, in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec, you will be government registered and authorized to officiate wedding ceremonies in your home Province.

CIMM obtains registration through the department of Vital Statistics with the provincial government, for you to be authorized to perform weddings. For authorization, outside of these geographic areas, you will need to make application to your local governing authority.

SPIRITUAL SUPPORT

Volunteer opportunities in your own community may include spiritual support in the following settings: health care, hospitals and hospice; penitentiary and prison services; women’s, seniors and youth support services. Students will be encouraged to research local opportunities.

FUNERALS / END OF LIFE CEREMONIES

All students will be qualified to officiate end-of-life ceremonies.

No additional official government registration is required to do this.

COMMISSIONER for OATHS

In most jurisdictions, your clergy qualification allows you to register to study to become a Commissioner of Oaths.

The Celebrant and Spiritual Practitioner program is a self-paced program with 2 mandatory ceremony workshops. Multiple workshop dates are offered to fit in with your robust schedule.

The workshop schedule is “a la carte” to meet your program completion, graduation and personal needs.

The program is ongoing, you may start immediately. It is possible to complete the CSP program in as little as 3-4 months or you may take up to one year from your registration date to finish the program.

About This Program

Prerequisite: 

There are no academic pre-requisites for this course. There is only a need to believe in something bigger than yourself.

This program qualifies you as a Celebrant and Spiritual Practitioner to perform ceremonies – including weddings and funerals – and be able to provide spiritual support in your own community.

Learners must

  • Complete self-study of the learning materials in Part One: Meet Yourself (8 modules);
  • Complete self-study of the learning materials in Part Two: Meet Your Calling (19 modules);
  • Attend the 2 full-day workshops. Tao Weddings and Vow Renewal Ceremonies and Tao Funerals and End-of-Life Ceremonies;  
  • Submit the 4 assignments including mock wedding video to receive certification. 

Each module is self-guided with audio, video and textbook resources. There are 3 textbooks provided in digital format in this program, written by Dr. Debra Ford Msc.D. (Textbooks can also be purchased on amazon through the links below if you prefer a hard copy.)

Format:

  • This is a self-paced course with active moderation. This course consists of online videos as outlined above, text book readings and 2 full-day workshops. You have 12 months from your registration date to complete. Program advisors are available for guidance and connection throughout the program.
  • This is an intensive program. Candidates generally take 3-6 months to complete, though you have 1 year to complete your studies. 
  • 3 written assignments plus 1 wedding ceremony script writing assignment including video-recording of the performance of a mock wedding ceremony for submission.

This program qualifies you as a Celebrant and Spiritual Practitioner to perform ceremonies – including weddings and funerals – and be able to provide spiritual support in your own community.

This course is the primary program for those who are intending to evolve their services towards the disciplines that are related to Ministry.

Being a religious marriage Officiant

As Metaphysical Ministers, our belief is in service, and that people express their faith in multiple ways.

CIMM clergy are religious marriage Officiants and are registered to perform religious ceremonies. The religion is metaphysics.

As an ordained CIMM Minister, you are an individual who has been vested or ordained with a religious authority to solemnize marriage in accordance with the “rites and usages” of your religious body (CIMM) therefore you meet the definition of a “religious representative” under the Marriage Act.

Qualification

Upon completion of this training, you will be qualified to officiate ceremonies, provide spiritual support in your community, and run a ministry.

You will receive a certificate of completion from the Academy of Inner Wisdom in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Upon graduation from this course, you will be able to register to become an ordained clergy through the Canadian International Metaphysical Ministry (CIMM) with the title of Reverend.

To be ordained through CIMM there are a number of criteria.

  • Certificate of study with ministry qualification from an approved metaphysical training facility (Academy of Inner Wisdom)
  • Swear the CIMM oath
  • 2 letters of reference
  • Criminal records check including vulnerable sector work
  • Membership dues range from CAD 100-450 depending on the membership level

This Celebrant and Spiritual Practitioner program IS…

  • Recommended for those who are community minded. Individuals who are interested in being part of the key celebrations of life, contributing to the joy in the lives of others. Those who wish to be a spiritual support for those going through experiences of growth and challenge in life.
  • To receive Celebrant and Spiritual Practitioner certification, you must submit all the assignments. You may use these tools professionally to work with others in enhancing your offerings in service.

Ceremonies and Spiritual Support:

An international training qualification. Graduate as clergy with the Reverend designation. Study the process of writing, and performing meaningful ceremonies – including weddings and funerals. 

The Academy of Inner Wisdom is the only Canadian academic institution that qualifies those who wish to facilitate ceremonies and provide spiritual support in their community. 

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Write and perform ceremonies including weddings and funerals;
  • Confidently work with the energetics of the Tao;
  • Confidently work with the Tao vocabulary;
  • Facilitate group study of the Daily Pulse;
  • Offer spiritual support;
  • Refer clients to appropriate professionals for practice that may be out of your scope;
  • Set intentions based on the natural energies of the Tao;
  • Create a personal belief statement;
  • Create an energetic business profile;
  • Research the best tools for the practical applications needed in your ministry practice; 
  • Implement ceremonies that incorporate the connection, balance and flow of the Tao, and build your ministry.
  • This is a self-paced course provided by the Academy of Inner Wisdom.
  • You must be an enrolled student to participate in the learning program.
  • Although this course is not facilitated, you are welcome to ask any questions in the General Discussion Forum. The program advisor will respond. 
  • We would love to hear what you think of the course, if anything is unclear, or if you have any ideas for improvements. Please provide feedback so we can improve the course for everyone.

Refund Policy

  1. Each course or program for which a student has enrolled will start when the student has completed the enrolment process and paid in full the course or program fees.
  2. The student may withdraw their enrolment within the first 4 days after the program fees have been paid, and a full refund will be given, provided the student has not completed any of the course or program requirements. The funds will be returned to the account from which they were originally sent, within 30 days from the official withdrawal date.
  3. After the student has enrolled and paid for the course or program, should the student or the Academy of Inner Wisdom be unable to continue with the program, each case will be evaluated according to circumstances and refunds determined accordingly.
  4. Students who do not formally withdraw from a course or program are considered enrolled, even if they are no longer participating in that course or program.
  5. A student has the option, within 4 days of enrolment, of transferring to another program. Fees will be adjusted accordingly.

Dr. Debra’s SolePath is Inspirational Teacher and Spiritual Mystic. It is this SolePath that allows her to connect, create and communicate the original SolePath body of work, and her unique teachings about the Tao. Her core values and core energy are spirituality and connection, inspiration and communication.

Dr. Debra is the course creator for the programs at the Academy of Inner Wisdom, including the Celebrant and Spiritual Practitioner training, and SolePath Metaphysical Philosopher training.

Dr. Debra is one of the world’s foremost experts in metaphysical energy. She has a doctorate in metaphysical science and is a metaphysical philosophy teacher. The Daily Pulse is a daily spiritual practice that brings ritual to life, a precious ordinary experience that reawakens you to the beauty of a single moment.

A daily ritual that is a guided process of self-awareness and a way to get connected to Higher Self and Source Energy to receive inspiration and guidance.

The Daily Pulse puts you in sync with the Tao, the heartbeat of nature. The Tao is the essential rhythm of nature, the fundamental pulse of our world.

The Daily Pulse reminds you that personal change happens in small steady steps each day. That transformation of how you feel, happens in the gift of time spent alone, in the ritual of an inner process.

Outline

The Daily Pulse is a daily ritual; small steps towards life transformation and happiness. These teachings are a combination of meditation and journaling and are based on Dr. Debra’s book Daily Pulse, rhythm of the Tao.

This Daily Pulse course is experiential and transformational. Each video lesson includes a guided meditation on the trigram of the Tao; a reading by Dr. Debra from her book; as well as journaling exercises. Each daily spiritual ritual includes an Intention, Breath Prayer and Affirmation.

The benefits of meditation are very well researched. Meditation reduces stress and helps control anxiety. Meditation promotes emotional health and enhances self-awareness. In our uncertain world, meditation seems as vital as breathing.

The benefits of journaling may not be so readily known. Journaling engages the left, creative or emotional side of the brain. Because of this, it soothes emotional unease and helps with all negative feelings.

Meditation and journaling are a spiritual practice during which you can connect with your higher self, your angels, your guides, your God. A way to receive inspiration and wisdom.

The Daily Pulse is the ritual of doing something uplifting and positive for yourself every day.

PART TWO: Meet Your Calling
Practical Application Of Learning

You will understand the role of a spiritual celebrant and provide support in your community. You will learn to provide moral spiritual support using a person-centered approach.

Qualifying to be a Celebrant and Spiritual Practitioner gives you the opportunity to have a profound effect on yourself and on the lives of others. Spiritual support and ceremonies that go from birth to end-of-life, affect emotional and mental well-being. You will be a witness to life, a guide and advisor. 

Outline

This course will teach you how to build an energetic business framework using the perfect balance of the Tao. You will learn about weddings and funerals that are uniquely designed for each person and each situation and include the perfection of the Tao. Opportunities for spiritual care will be discussed, giving students the inspiration for discovering prospects in their own communities. Areas of exploration include health care, hospice, seniors care, schools, corrections, and education.

When you have completed the Celebrant and Spiritual Practitioner program, you will be part of an inner network of Celebrants. We see this as a HUB, a central point of community for our students, celebrants and practitioners to come to when they are stretching their wings with their new qualification. We are here for you.

The Celebrant and Spiritual Practitioner Training consists of 27 modules of self-paced study and 2-days of required live online workshops. You can complete the material in as little as 3 months or up to one year from your registration date.

Metaphysics is the study of the way we energetically interact with our world, in pursuit of happiness.

Metaphysics is the branch of philosophy that studies the nature of consciousness. The word metaphysics comes from two Greek words that mean “after or behind or among [the study of] the natural”. Metaphysics seeks to answer the four fundamental questions of life: 1. Who am I?  2. What am I doing here? 3. Where do I come from? 4. Where am I going? 

Metaphysics studies questions related to existence. To be interested in or drawn to the study of metaphysics, there is only one conviction needed and this is outside of the constraints of any religious or specific spiritual beliefs. It is a certainty, a knowing by the individual, that ‘I am more than my physical body’. This may be defined in any personal way and based on any personal belief system. The part of you that is ‘more than your physical body’ is generally referred to as your higher self, or your soul.

It is expected that you will have reviewed all content that will be covered, before each workshop date. This will put you in a position to have meaningful class discussion, and request any clarity of understanding of the material that is relevant for your own success.

Multiple workshop dates are offered throughout the year to meet your personal needs.

Our CSP training has an ongoing registration process. It is self-paced, and you may begin at any time. You are required to go through a personal orientation to the program materials and then continue on as your schedule allows. Program advisors will work with you to complete your program milestones for certification.
